For Mort

A group of six college students gather in the commons to complete a project. But before they can get started they hear some shout “Shooter!”. Everyone dives for cover. In the commotion one of the students, a man named Mort, disappears. The other five manage to crawl to safety and go in search of the campus police.

But the campus police don’t believe there is a problem. They’ve seen nothing on their monitors and assume the students are playing a prank.

The five students return to the commons, expecting carnage and mayhem. But everything looks normal, as if there never had been a shooter. They almost convince themselves they had dreamed the whole thing until they discover Mort’s phone on the floor. Mort is never without his phone.

The five search for Mort but fail to find him. They call in a paranormal group, one that specializes in UFOs and aliens, to help. After some bright lights and earthquake-like shakes, Mort returns. He has no memory of being missing. The students decide not to tell him he had been abducted by aliens and they get back to their project.

The leader of the paranormal group goes to a rarely used office where he meets with a woman who sits in front of an old-timey typewriter. There it becomes obvious that there is much more to the story than was revealed to the students. The two chat, then the man leaves through a door into super bright light. The woman taps out a tune on the typewriter.
